Thanks to everyone who came to my presentation on WordPress Security: Best Practices and Disaster Recovery at the 1st annual Albuquerque WordCamp. Overall, I think the event was a big success and look forward to presenting and perhaps sponsoring it again next year. I was a bit nervous about public speaking initially but I think it went great. It was nice to get to know the crew from Automattic.

As promised, below are my slides so you can copy the code examples I went over. Please be sure to test each change you make to your .htaccess file and wp-config.php file to ensure that my suggestions will function correctly on your particular server/host. Happy coding.

If you or someone you know needs help dealing with a compromised WordPress site or would like some assistance tightening up your site’s security, Mindshare Labs would be happy to assist you. Also, if you’re a local developer or designer, drop us a line if you’re coming up to Santa Fe, when our workload permits, we’d be happy to meet up for coffee or lunch to talk shop.
